FRIENDS FOREVER
In a village
called Nandom lived a farmer called Mr. Manu and his wife Maame Kuma. They have
married for over ten years without a child and after consultation and prayers
the lord blessed them with a baby girl whom they named Isabella Maame Akyea
Manu after Mr. Manu's late Aunty who took care of him when his mother died.
Isabella
grew quickly and beautifully that people started comparing her to the most
beautiful queen that ever lived.
Mr. Manu and
maame kuma made sure she never lacked anything especially financial and
educational needs. Because of this good care she usually topped her class in
everything they do even more than expected of her.
Finally she
wrote the basic education certificate examination and came up with flying
colours even championing the whole district which earned her a scholarship to
study science at the Domangye high school for excellence.
When the
time came for her to leave for school, her parents, chief of the village and
the whole community advised her of bad friends, to take her books seriously and
pray without ceasing. She thanked them and promised not to fail them as they
have confidence and trust in her.
She left
after the chief, Naa Charles IV blessed her. It was a long journey and she
finally got to the school. At the entrance a group of students helped her to
carry her luggage inside.
A week later
intensive studies started and she worked hard that all the teachers liked her.
She did all her duties and assignments on time and made sure and fault is found
on her.
Because of
her beauty most students started making advances to her but rejected them all
telling them she was there to study and not to look for boyfriends. These
offended most of them especially the seniors who began hating her for no cause.
All this while
academic works were ongoing and students were showing their academic prowess
and she was even excelling more with the combination of punishment and the
academic works.
One day a
form one male student who had noticed her felt pity and decided to her out with
the punishments. This boy Silas was also from a farming community and an orphan
who lives with the uncle. He was also brilliant and hardworking as Isabella.
In less than
a week they became the best of friends and seen almost everywhere studying together
to the admiration of all the teachers and envy of the students.
Three years
passed of that of a whirlwind and they both completed with excellent grades.
Due to this,
Isabella had the chance to go abroad to study law in one of the best
universities on America and Silas went to the university of Ghana medical
school.
While she
was, there she made sure they stayed in touch through writing of letters. This
drew the attention of both families who prayed that they will continue that way
till eternity.
They both
completed their fields of study and were practising. One day news broke that
Isabella is seriously sick had have to return to Ghana for treatment.
